Baruch Dayan HaEmes, Diaspora Yeshiva Toras Yisrael is mourning the passing of one its esteemed students, Rabbi Yehoyachin Montoya, Ztz”l, who was niftar Motzei Shabbos this week.
Rabbi Montoya, Ztz”l was known as a very kind man, having attended the Yeshiva multiple times over the years, as did his daughter, who learned in Diaspora Yeshiva’s Torah learning center for women, Machon Roni.
Rabbi Montoya, Ztz”l received smichah from the Rebbe, HaRav Mordechai Goldstein, Ztz”l, was certified as a shochet by the Yeshiva, and served the Chief Rabbi of Cartagena, Colombia, where he also had a synagogue.
His body was laid to rest in the cemetery that HaRav Yisroel Goldstein, Shlit”a helped to establish for his communities.
The Yeshiva is learning for the elevation of his soul. He should be eulogized among those who mourn in Yisrael.
