The Only Way to Be Saved From the Day of Judgment and Death

The Rosh Yeshiva gives three reasons why teshuva (repentance) is the only way to be saved from G-d’s Judgment in Yom HaDin (the Day of Judgment), as opposed to simply doing a few mitzvahs (commandments, i.e., good deeds) in order to no longer be a Benoni (someone who is in the middle, neither righteous nor wicked, and, centrally, the importance and way of stirring up one’s emotions in order to properly regret one’s transgressions, an essential aspect of real teshuvah.
