Bilam (Balaam) advised Balak, the king of Moav (Moab), and the daughters of Moav were sent to seduce the Men of Yisrael (Israel) into avodah zarah (foreign service a.k.a. idolatry). Why, then, did HaShem afterwards instruct Moshe (Moses) to ‘Avenge the vengeance of Bnei Yisrael [the Children of Israel] from the Midyanim [Midianites]?’ Why not Balak and Moav (Moab)? What was the difference between the two nations in relation to the conflict? What parallels can be drawn between them and recent events, including the miraculously decisive Twelve Day War? And what should we learn about dealing with our own personal conflicts and how to prevail?
